Let’s Do It India is the Indian chapter of ‘Let’s Do It World’ organisation which aims to reduce the problem of illegally dumped waste in our country and conduct regular cleanup activities.

Our parent organization ‘let’s Do It! World’ has been operating on issues of environmental conservation for several years  by mobilizing millions of positive-minded, action-orientated people and using innovative technological solutions to deal with waste issues in over 150 countries around the world. The organization is also in collaboration with United Nations

An important motive of Let’s Do It India is to promote a greater understanding of the connections between people and their environment and to encourage creative thinking through hands-on education on waste management. We empower our community to protect and preserve the environment through environmental education and creative exploration.

Core to our beliefs is the notion that people want to do the right things; all they need is a little encouragement or incentive. We believe that people are naturally responsible; if we encourage them to care for their favourite places, to pick up after themselves and others, then our trails will become self-sufficient, clean, and more enjoyable.

World Cleanup Day is the largest one-day peacetime civic action against waste aiming to raise awareness of the global mismanaged waste crisis and its impact on the environment.

World Cleanup Day held on 15th September every year is one of the most important initiatives of Let’s Do It where people in 150 countries will stand up against the global trash problem and clean up waste, making it the biggest positive civic action the world has seen. This will form an epic green wave – beginning in New Zealand and travelling around the world, with millions of volunteers taking action in their country as the Day passes through their time zone, before ending in Hawaii.

Cleanups alone will not solve the crisis, but these events create change in society by:

  • Promoting change in individual behaviour
  • Creating awareness of trash around us
  • Diverting civil society’s and governments attention to this crisis.
