With the recent WHO announcement of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and public health related notifications from our member countries, the Let’s Do It World reminds everyone that its members’, team leaders’ and volunteers’ health and wellbeing is the top priority under all circumstances.
We urge the country leaders to monitor closely the situation in their respective countries, follow the recommendations of authorities and modify any plans according to official guidelines.
Let’s Do It World together with Earth Day network suggests, that teams which are continuing with cleanup efforts for the Great Global Cleanup, in countries not yet inflicted by the novel coronavirus, to reduce the number of participants in a single point, promote actively individual activities for waste picking like plogging, litter picking while hiking or smaller cleanups in more locations closer to home. During cleanups, please follow the general safety guidelines. In any case, local authorities’ recommendations should be monitored closely and any restriction suggested or imposed via official channels immediately put into action.
The Headquarters of Let’s Do It World is monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 closely and is ready to react according to changing circumstances. We sincerely hope that with our coordinated collective efforts the pandemic will soon cease and we can continue united and strong our mission for a cleaner and healthier World. Therefore, we would like to assure our members and partners that the organisation for World Cleanup Day 2020 on 19th September, is still on course. Should there be any change in plans, it will be communicated via our official channels.
